Women Ministries

St. Andrew’s has a number of ministries for women.

The Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) group meets regularly on the first Tuesday of the month.  Each month we engage the world through learning about various mission activities that the Presbyterian Church in Canada carries out.  Every meeting has something new and interesting, such as an international guest speaker, but each meeting also has something the same – good food, good people and a good cause.  For more information regarding WMS, visit here.

SALSA stands for St. Andrew’s Ladies Social and Action group but we chose the acronym for a reason.  We are a dynamic group of women who enjoy getting together for Christian fellowship and fun. We help each other through socializing and faith development. Some of our activities include: putting together Easter bags for the Food Cupboard children, Bible study evenings, making costumes for the Christmas pageant, hosting women’s breakfasts, and our annual Christmas cookie exchange. We wrap up the year with our annual pool party.  For more information regarding SALSA, visit here.

Prayer Shawl Ministry is a growing and very meaningful outreach to those in need.  Members of the group either knit or crotchet shawls for recipients who may be shut-ins, in a nursing home or very ill.  This ministry is a means to bring God’s love, comfort and peace to them.  For more information regarding Prayer Shawl, visit here.

We encourage every woman to come out and join us, and see what the WMS, SALSA and Prayer Shawl is all about!  To find out about our next scheduled events please see the event calendar.
