A Workshop on Faith-Full Visiting
“Visiting is one person reaching out to another person in the name of Christ” (Kennon L. Callahan)
Is visiting a lost art?
Visiting on behalf of the church should provide a friendship that helps people to live rich, full, and joyous lives in Christ. It is an opportunity to let our light shine.
How do we deal with changing times and growing pressures?
Have we lost the ability or the courage to share our personal faith with others? Many hold to the mistaken belief that one’s faith is a private matter. That is not how Jesus and his disciples saw it. As the apostle John wrote in his first letter: “we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.” (1:7).
When: Saturday June 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Please bring your own lunch
Who: Elders and members who visit on behalf of the church
We will look at:
- personal faith, how it is informed, and how we can share it.
We will consider:
- how the early disciples presented the Gospel, and what does that mean for us.
We will learn:
- what we can do to personally share our gospel story if face to face visits are an ancient lost art, and busy people are struggling to find meaning and fullness of life
- learn about the Biblical foundations
- find the historical support
- share personal experiences.
Dr. Bob has facilitated this learning experience in other congregations and at other times.
Please call the church office to register – 905-451-1723, ext. 0.
