Bio: Reverend Rebekah Mitchell

Associate Minister

Reverend Rebekah Mitchell was born in Kapuskasing, spending her early years in New Liskeard, and then moving to Pickering when she was 7 years old. She lived there for most of her life. After high school, she got her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Lakehead University before studying Public Relations at Durham College. She worked in Toronto for a few years before answering a call to ministry by beginning classes at Knox College in 2003. After graduating in 2006, Rebekah received a call to St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Oshawa, and has spent her first few years of full-time ministry there. She is passionate about helping people of all ages understanding and grow in their relationship with God. Over the past several years, Rebekah’s faith has been greatly influenced by the writing and preaching of Rob Bell, Erwin McManus and Bruxy Cavey. On a more personal note, Rebekah loves to knit (Estonian lace knitting being her favourite), to hunt through yarn shops for that perfect ball of yarn, and to spend time with friends and family.
